The jog was held on Friday, 5 October 2007. The need for money was never greater because of the expenditure incurred during the summer. As the newsletter goes to print, the amount collected is €11,200. We thank the families who have contributed and request that all families make a big effort to contribute to school funds this year. Raffle tickets are given out for each €10 collected, and the raffle will be held on Friday, 26 October 2007.
Pierse Friel, one of the pupils in 6th Class, won a prize of 300 cinema tickets which he has donated to the school. We congratulate Pierse and thank him for his generosity. The prize will be taken up on Thursday and Friday, 25th and 26th October
We congratulate the pupils in 2nd and 6th Classes on their recent enrolment ceremonies for First Penance and Confirmation.

Election of Parent Representatives to Board of Management
The meeting to elect parent representatives to the Board of Management will be held tonight (Wednesday) at 8.00 p.m. in the school hall.
Transfer to Post-Primary Schools
Most of the pupils in our 6th Classes have now obtained places in post-primary schools for the school year, 2008-09. With regard to St Finian’s and Fingal Community Colleges, application should be made when the pupils are in 6th Class. Coláiste Choilm uses a booking system so it is important for parents to make application for their sons as soon as possible, irrespective of the class in which the boys are at present.
The school will be closed for all of next week, 29th October – 2nd November (Inclusive). The school will re-open on Monday, 5th November.
The Juvenile Liaison Officer from An Garda has visited the school to warn the boys about potential dangers at Halloween. We hope that all members of our school community have a peaceful and safe Halloween.
