Congratulations to the boys and to everyone else involved in the Confirmation ceremony.

Gaelic Football

Well done to the two school teams. They have won some games and competed very well in the other matches. Thanks very much to Fingallians for the use of their facilities and to Vinny Galvin and Emer Bambrick for their coaching.

At the time of writing, the team is still unbeaten. Well done on the achievements so far this season.

The teams have been very successful and a number of the boys have also won individual awards. The last event is being held on Wednesday, 9 April 2003.

The boys in 3rd and 5th Classes have one lesson left. The boys in 4th and one of the 5th Classes will be offered swimming classes during the Third Term.

The Educational Welfare Act and School Attendance

The Educational Welfare Act is now fully operational. The school authorities are obliged to inform the Educational Welfare Board if a child is absent from school for 20 days during the year.

The Homework Club

The Homework Club has been a great success. At present, its functioning is being reviewed and a circular will be issued when more details are available for the new term.

French Classes

A person has been located who will provide French Classes (after school) for the boys in 6th Class is there is a demand for it. A questionnaire will be sent out in the next few days to ascertain the level of interest.

Each year, photographs are taken of every class in the school. These photographs are a very important part of the school’s archives. This year, it is intended to take the photographs of the classes on the week commencing 12 May. Parents are asked to ensure that their sons are  wearing full uniforms on the days designated for the photographs.

Congratulations to all involved in the work on the mural in the Junior Yard. The finished product will be judged as part of an Environmental Awareness project.
