Following the issuing of a status Red weather warning, our school will remain closed today. A decision about tomorrow will be made later today.
We are continuing to monitor the weather conditions in Swords. Our first responsibility is the safety of all members of our school community. A decision on whether the school will open or not will be made in the context of that responsibility. It will be based on the weather and road conditions in the morning and the possibility of those conditions deteriorating during the school day. An update will be posted here on Wednesday morning.
Our school will close on Wednesday 21st February and Thursday 8th March at 12.00 p.m. to facilitate staff training in relation to new Child Protection legislation.
On 17 January, 2014 our friend, colleague and teacher was taken from us suddenly. As we approach the fourth anniversary of Olivia’s passing, we remember her in a special way. Olivia was a kind, caring and hardworking teacher. As a friend and colleague, Olivia was extremely generous, thoughtful and considerate. Olivia is sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.

The book is thematic in its layout. It opens with a brief history of the school and the changes and improvements to the buildings and grounds over the past 50 years. The next section includes interviews with past pupils from each of the five decades, as well as interviews with teachers from each of the five decades. The next section details the ancillary staff, student council and other groups within our school community. Then follows a comprehensive section covering the events and activities of the past 50 Years. The final section has class photographs featuring all of our pupils of 2016 and some of their views on our school.
This 80 page publication is filled with coloured photographs and is a fascinating read for anyone who has had an association with or interest in our school during its 50 Year history.
